If you are like most of us, you probably know somebody who resists seeking assistance for their hearing problem. Below, we’ve listed the three most common objections and our recommended solution for each:

Hearing aids are unattractive: There are two options for most people who have a hearing loss and don’t want others to notice — micro BTEs and completely-in-the-canal (CIC) hearing aids. Both offer near invisibility and excellent hearing performance.

I want to try before I buy: By law, all hearing professionals must provide consumers a minimum of 30 days to evaluate the effectiveness of their new hearing instruments. An individual who returns the hearing aids within the trial period is entitled to a full refund.

I don’t know where to go or what I need: We offer those who are new to hearing aids two excellent resources. The first, called Ten Essentials You Must Understand about Hearing Aids and Hearing Professionals, offers advice on choosing an audiologist. The second is The Consumer Guide to Hearing Aids, which details the various options in hearing aid models and manufacturers.

Together, these publications make a newcomer feel more secure and in control of the selection process. Complimentary copies of both resources are available through our office upon request.

Motivating others to consider hearing aids has never been easier
